A COMPANY WITH TRADITION

Our success story

Since our foundation in 1966, we at Maschinen-Wagner have been on an impressive journey. We are proud to present our history to you.

The beginnings

Every journey begins with the first step - and so does ours.

Volker Wagner founded the company with his wife Ursula in 1966.

They were supported - in the traditional way - by their grandfather. Initially, they traded in saws.

In the VW bus - converted into a demonstration vehicle - Volker Wagner visited customers - mostly small businesses throughout Baden-Württemberg.

Company headquarters Renchen

In 1973, the foundation stone of today's company headquarters was laid.

The first hall was built in the industrial area in Renchen - which was continuously expanded in the following years.

Today, the company premises cover 16,000 square meters with 8,000 square meters of exhibition space.

VOWA Program

The VOWA brand was launched in 1975 - a product range of conventional machine tools for the metal-cutting sector.

Even then as a complete supplier - for sawing, turning, milling, drilling and grinding.

The sales area was expanded and we established ourselves as a major player in the world of machine tools.

Expansion

We continued to expand our company and opened sales and service centers throughout Germany in 1985.

This enabled us to be even closer to our customers and gave them the opportunity to find out about new technologies right on their doorstep and see them live in action.

Automation & CNC

Technology progressed and the first stages of automation of work processes began.

The machines were controlled. Always close to the customer, Maschinen-Wagner also expanded its product range to include machines with controls.

From 1985, these machines were grouped together under the term "CNC exclusive program".

Trennjaeger becomes part of Wagner

In 1993, we took over the renowned company TRENNJAEGER - the specialist in the field of underfloor saws, with many years of expertise and machines sold worldwide.

Internationalization

As early as 1995, Germany became too small for sales and internationalization was driven forward with our own bases in France, Italy and the Eastern European countries.

This enabled us to offer our services internationally and further increase our reach.

France and Italy were followed by sales offices in Poland and Slovenia in 2006.

This allowed us to be even closer to our customers and to better understand their individual requirements.

Generation change

In 1998, Maschinen-Wagner Werkzeugmaschinen was taken over by the second generation of the Wagner family.

They had already been working in the company for many years and consequently took over the business.

Process optimization

In 2002, we introduced a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to offer our customers even more efficient communication and collaboration.

This was a further step towards strengthening our relationships with our customers and continuously improving our service.

5-axis technology

Another milestone was the realization of a high-tech line for 5-axis machining in 2014;

after we realized from our customers that machining complex workpieces with 4 axes was becoming too labour-intensive and time-consuming.

This enabled us to meet the increased needs of our customers.

Industry 4.0

In 2016, we implemented our first projects in the field of Industry 4.0.

By integrating automation and handling technologies, we can offer our customers the support they need to significantly optimize their production processes and generate competitive advantages.

We at Maschinen-Wagner Werkzeugmaschinen are proud...

on our history and the successes we have achieved together with our customers.

We strive to continue our tradition while always being at the cutting edge of technology in order to offer our customers the best possible solutions.
